Awesome hands-on wedding photography workshop

I am very happy that my good friend Huy Nguyen, one of the best wedding photojournalists in the world, invited me again to participate as a guest instructor at Get Real 4. This an amazing workshop where students get the chance to participate photographing a real wedding. I just wished that Huy had been doing this when I started my career as a wedding photographer.

This time is going to be in 8/15 in La Crescent, MN. I can’t wait!

Special thanks to Melissa and Jose, the bride and groom for the Get Real 4 wedding.

Catherine and Hans

When I met Catherine and Hans they told me how important photography was for them; it made me very happy. I knew that they had the eye, Hans is an architect and Catherine attended the Brooks Institute of Photography; I am honored that they picked me.

Their ceremony was held at St. Phillips in the Hills Church and their reception was at the Arizona Inn. Catherine and Hans had an awesome band called SeƱor Q that played some yummy salsa jams at the reception. Later in the night they switched to DJ Kade. DJ Kade spun hot 80′s tracks all night! It was the sweetest DJ performance of any wedding that I have attended since 2004. It made our job very easy.

At the end of the night Hans spoke with me a little and gave me some of the greatest compliments I have ever received as a photographer.

Catherine and Hans, thanks so, so, so much

At this wedding I had the great pleasure to have Kelly Rashka photographing with me. She did an amazing job.

This is a slideshow of some of my own personal favorite images(Kelly’s and mine) from the wedding.
